Yes, this is sure to be an outstanding movie! I was in attendance at the set, in Woonsocket Rhode Island. The opportunity to watch Richard Gere, Joan Allen, Erick Avari, and Jason Alexander was one not to be passed up. Director Lasse Hallström is a pleasant, yet seemingly timid man of great talent. I met him momentarily, and I was unable to decifer if he was acting shyly, or if he was just determined in his work. I was able to meet Erick Avari, who is a funny, charismatic man who enjoys meeting poeple, and who appreciates his fans immensely. I was also able to meet the writer of the remake of 'Hachiko, A Dog's Story'. I was very proud to have that opportunity. Although I was unable to meet Richard Gere, I was within three feet of him while he visited a local business to sign an autograph. He is not a 'stuck up' man, as some would think. Rather, he is a celebrity who has endured gossip, and who is used to being followed by fans, admirers, and yes, the paparazzi. So, that would explain his choice to remain strictly professional. He is willing to bring himself to meet the crowd of onlookers, and actually did just that in Woonsocket, R.I. However he seems to limit that honor to smaller crowds. All in all, the actors, and the entire crew were extremely courteous professionals, and 'Hachiko, A Dog's Story' is a movie I simply can't wait to see!
Two thumbs up to ALL of the cast! And two more to the actors, director, and producers, including all of their assistants.
