From Monsters and Critics.com Movies News Director Charles Shyer has cast Australian actress Jordana Beatty for the title role in HandMade Films’ upcoming "Eloise in Paris" – which will also star Uma Thurman. Variety reports shooting is set to begin on Aug. 12th with locations in Paris, New York, and the south of France. HandMade Film is eyeing the film (based on the books by Kay Thompson) as the start of a new “Eloise” franchise. The studio is already at work developing a follow-up film, "Eloise Goes to Hollywood." "Eloise in Paris" was co-written by Shyer with his daughter Hallie Meyers-Shyer and Larry Spencer. The film is produced by Patrick Meehan, Thomas D. Adelman and Ron Rotholz. Shyer. Beatty beat out more than 4,000 other girls for the Eloise role and has been working as an actress since she was four years old. Thurman has signed to play Eloise’s nanny in the film.
